Cookie Policy

A cookie is a small file a website leaves in your browser to remember something about your visit. Here’s what Between Two Seas actually uses, without the usual copy-paste list you see on every other site.

Cookies this site sets

Analytics (Google Analytics)

When you visit, Google Analytics may set a cookie (typically named something like _ga or _ga_*) to help us understand overall traffic patterns: how many people visited, roughly where from, and which essays people are actually reading. These cookies don’t identify you by name, and we don’t use them for advertising.

Caching (LiteSpeed Cache)

Our hosting uses a caching plugin to make pages load faster. It may set a technical cookie to determine whether you should see a cached or freshly generated version of a page. This isn’t used to track you; it’s used to make the site faster.

Cookies this site does not set

We don’t run advertising networks, retargeting pixels, or social media tracking on this site. We don’t use cookies to build an advertising profile of you, and we never sell data gathered through cookies.

Third-party tools that may set their own cookies

If you subscribe through our email sign-up (powered by Hostinger Reach) or interact with hotel and map recommendations (powered by Stay22, in our Guides section), those services may set their own cookies under their own policies. We don’t control those cookies directly, but we chose both tools because they’re reasonably respectful of visitor privacy.

Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Doing so may affect how some parts of the site behave (cached pages may load a little slower, for instance), but the essays themselves will always be readable.
